Trump Announces Surge of Empty Oil Tankers Heading to US for Oil Acquisition

Washington: US President Donald Trump announced on Saturday that a substantial number of empty oil tankers are en route to the United States to load oil.

According to Anadolu Agency, Trump shared this information on his Truth Social platform, stating, “Massive numbers of completely empty oil tankers, some of the largest anywhere in the World, are heading, right now, to the United States to load up with the best and ‘sweetest’ oil (and gas!) anywhere in the World.” He emphasized the abundance and superior quality of US oil, asserting, “We have more oil than the next two largest oil economies combined – and higher quality. We are waiting for you. Quick turnaround!”

The announcement comes amidst global energy disruptions due to the Iran war, which has hindered flows through the Strait of Hormuz, a crucial passage for international crude and LNG trade. This conflict has sparked severe energy shocks worldwide.

Efforts to resolve the ongoing conflict in the Middle East continue, with Pakistan playing a key role in mediating negotiations. Pakistan facilitated a two-week US-Iran ceasefire earlier this week, aiming to halt the extensive armed conflict that began with the US-Israeli offensive on Iran on February 28.

The war has resulted in significant casualties, with nearly 3,000 Iranians reportedly killed according to the country’s health authorities, and at least 13 US servicemen killed alongside dozens of others wounded.
