Washington: US President Donald Trump stated on Monday that he has a plan to manage the rising oil prices caused by the ongoing conflict with Iran but did not provide specific details. "I have a plan for everything. You'll be very happy," he mentioned to the New York Post during the tenth day of the US-Israeli offensive against Iran.

According to Anadolu Agency, the conflict has led to a significant increase in oil prices, with Brent crude momentarily hitting $119 a barrel, marking its highest point since the onset of the Russia-Ukraine conflict in 2022, before settling around $100. Trump has not dismissed the possibility of seizing Iranian oil to mitigate supply issues, as he indicated to NBC News that discussions on the matter had occurred, though it was premature to elaborate further.

The main factor behind the price increase is the disruption of shipping through the Strait of Hormuz, a crucial passage for approximately 20 million barrels of oil each day. When questioned about rising fuel prices, Trump expressed no concern, suggesting that prices would decrease quickly once the conflict concludes. He emphasized that the situation's importance outweighed the potential impact on gasoline prices.
