Ankara: US President Donald Trump declared on Sunday that the strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities have been a "total and complete WIN," defending the military action against a Republican congressman who questioned its constitutionality.

According to Anadolu Agency, Trump responded to Republican Rep. Thomas Massie on Truth Social after Massie described the Iran strikes as "not constitutional." Massie recently introduced a bipartisan resolution aimed at prohibiting unauthorized US military action against Iran, citing US law, which mandates congressional authorization to declare war.

Trump emphasized the success of the military operation, stating, "We had a spectacular military success yesterday, taking the 'bomb' right out of their hands." He portrayed Iran as a threat, suggesting Tehran would have used the "bomb" if possible, and referenced past incidents, including the 1979 US Embassy seizure.

The US military operation targeted three Iranian nuclear sites, involving more than 125 aircraft, including B-2 stealth bombers, which deployed six bunker-buster bombs on the Fordo facility. Navy submarines launched numerous cruise missiles at the Natanz and Isfahan sites. Joint Chiefs Chairman Air Force Gen. Dan Caine reported that the battle damage assessment is ongoing, with initial findings indicating "extremely severe" damage to all three sites.

Trump thanked the military for their efforts, saying, "Thank you to our incredible military for the AMAZING job they did last night. It was really SPECIAL!!"
