The news outlet reported that Trump called Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu shortly after the strikes, informed him about the outcome, and expressed his intent to pursue an agreement with Tehran.
According to Anadolu Agency, an American official stated, "The president doesn't want to continue strikes. He's ready to do it if Iran retaliates, but he told Netanyahu he wants peace." An Israeli official confirmed Trump's stance, noting, "Americans made it clear to us they want to close this round. They don't mind if we continue our strikes, but when it comes to them, they're done."
Israel destroyed multiple Iranian air defense systems within 48 hours before the US strike, following American requests, Israeli and American officials reported. The US had provided Israel with a list of defense systems to eliminate before the Fordo facility attack.
The US targeted Iran's nuclear sites with six bunker-buster bombs dropped on the Fordo facility using B-2 stealth bombers, along with dozens of submarine-launched cruise missile strikes on the Natanz and Isfahan facilities.
