He emphasized China's significant reliance on the strait, through which up to 90% of its maritime crude oil shipments pass, and extended an invitation to the country to participate in the initiative.

According to Anadolu Agency, Trump addressed concerns about a social media video showing support for Iran's recently appointed Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei. He dismissed the footage as 'AI-generated,' claiming it was falsely portrayed by the media as evidence of widespread support. Trump expressed confidence that the war affecting oil prices would conclude 'pretty quickly,' leading to a decrease in prices.

Trump further mentioned potential developments in US relations with Cuba, asserting that Cuba is a 'failed nation' eager to forge a new agreement. He indicated that a deal could be reached soon or that the US might take alternative actions if necessary.

The Strait of Hormuz is a vital maritime corridor between Iran and Oman, serving as a key conduit for global oil and gas shipments. Since early March, Iran has effectively closed the strait in response to joint military actions by Israel and the US, which began on February 28. The conflict has resulted in approximately 1,300 casualties, including the death of former Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

Disruptions in the strait's shipping activities have led to increased global oil and fertilizer prices, raising concerns over energy availability and food costs. On Saturday, Trump urged countries dependent on the strait for oil to take responsibility for its security, with the US offering assistance. He also mentioned the potential for US Navy escorts for oil tankers navigating the strait to commence 'soon.'
