Trump Expresses Willingness to Negotiate with Uncertain Iranian Leadership

Washington: US President Donald Trump announced his readiness to negotiate with the current Iranian leadership, despite uncertainties regarding who holds control within the Iranian government. Trump highlighted the ongoing internal conflicts in Iran, suggesting a struggle for leadership following significant disruptions in their command structure.

According to Anadolu Agency, Trump addressed the media in Florida before boarding Air Force One, emphasizing the US's advantageous position in negotiations. He stated, "We have all the cards. They have no military left, practically. They have no leaders left. We don't know who the leaders are... I don't think they know who the leaders are." Trump expressed a willingness to engage with whoever is in charge, dismissing the need for prolonged travel and formalities.

Trump also praised Pakistan's leadership, mentioning the country's field marshal and prime minister positively. He pointed out that despite Pakistan's interest in fostering peace, the US is not willing to engage in extensive travel for meetings with unfamiliar figures. Trump's remarks followed his decision to cancel a planned visit to Pakistan by special envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner.

The discussions between the US and Iran commenced in Islamabad two weeks ago but did not yield an agreement to resolve the conflict initiated on February 28. The talks were part of efforts following a two-week ceasefire facilitated by Pakistan on April 8, which was subsequently extended by Trump.

In a separate comment, Trump mentioned his crypto conference at Mar-a-Lago, where he expressed the desire to surpass China in the cryptocurrency and artificial intelligence sectors. He highlighted crypto as a burgeoning industry, underscoring the US's leading position in these fields.
