Rabat: US President Donald Trump announced on Saturday that he has called off a planned military strike against Iran, following requests from Tehran and other Middle Eastern countries for more time to finalize a framework for a peace deal. Trump highlighted that Israel has also committed to this initiative.

According to Anadolu Agency, Trump shared on his social media platform, Truth Social, that the involved parties have agreed on the "perimeters" of a potential deal. This deal aims for the "immediate, complete, and total" reopening of the Strait of Hormuz and seeks to eliminate Iran's nuclear threat.

Trump stated that the decision to cancel the military action was made "for the future benefit of the WORLD and, likewise, the survival of a successful and prosperous Iran." However, he emphasized that the cancellation is contingent upon the parties' ability to "rapidly make a DEAL."

Trump also asserted that the United States is prepared for military action against Iran, describing the country's readiness as unmatched since World War II. He mentioned that Israel is committed to refraining from any attacks and urged all parties to expedite the peace process, stating, "Get to work, everybody, and get it DONE."
