Trump Highlights Progress at NATO Summit in Ankara

Ankara: US President Donald Trump stated on Wednesday that NATO had "come a long way today," following the alliance's summit in Ankara, where 'some concessions' were made. According to Anadolu Agency, Trump addressed reporters aboard Air Force One, reflecting on what he described as 'a very good' NATO summit. He expressed satisfaction with the outcomes of the two-day meeting, highlighting that 'a lot of things were determined' and characterizing NATO as 'pretty amazing.' Trump elaborated that the discussions in Ankara 'settled a lot of things,' and described the meeting as 'very, very good,' emphasizing that participants now 'understand that the United States is, we've been treated very unfairly.' He noted that despite previous tensions, 'Spain came back all the way today,' acknowledging Spain's response to his calls for financial contributions. The US President criticized past actions by Spain, stating they 'behaved very badly' but acknowledged 'great unity' during the meeting. Trump also noted successful trade negotiations with Trkiye, commending them as 'a very good partner.'
