Washington: US President Donald Trump on Saturday initiated an online poll to gauge public opinion on whether the term "artificial intelligence" (AI) should be replaced with a different designation. Using his Truth Social platform, Trump questioned the adequacy of the current terminology in capturing the essence of what he termed a rapidly evolving technological revolution.

According to Anadolu Agency, Trump expressed that the term "Artificial Intelligence" is both inaccurate and lacking in elegance. He proposed alternative names such as Superior Intelligence (SI), Extreme Intelligence (EI), or Supreme Intelligence (SI) as more fitting descriptors for the emerging technology phenomenon.

The proposal was presented as a public poll, encouraging participation from his followers. Trump urged users to vote on what they believe to be the most suitable name for this ongoing technological transformation. He emphasized the significance of public input by ending his post with a direct appeal: "This is a Poll, and I would appreciate everybody voting! Which is the best name for this ever growing 'Revolution?'"

Recent advancements in AI systems have shown capabilities that surpass expectations, sparking debates over the need for slowing development and implementing stricter government regulations. However, Trump dismissed these concerns as a "hoax," asserting that what AI truly requires is strong leadership. He previously stated that "The only control or 'guardrails' that AI needs is a STRONG AND SMART (High IQ!) PRESIDENT, and the U.S.A. has that, in spades."
