Washington: US President Donald Trump announced that prominent American defense manufacturers have committed to significantly boosting weapons production. This declaration followed a meeting with industry executives at the White House.

According to Anadolu Agency, Trump revealed on his Truth Social platform that discussions centered around production schedules and increasing output across the US defense sector. Trump stated, 'We just concluded a very good meeting with the largest U.S. Defense Manufacturing Companies where we discussed Production and Production Schedules. They have agreed to quadruple production of the 'Exquisite Class' weaponry in that we want to reach, as rapidly as possible, the highest levels of quantity.'

Recent media reports have pointed out potential strains on US stockpiles of precision-guided munitions and missile defense interceptors following recent strikes on Iran. Trump noted that efforts to expand production began three months prior to the meeting, with several manufacturing facilities and production lines already operational.

The president also emphasized that the US maintains a "virtually unlimited supply" of medium and upper-medium grade munitions, which have been utilized in operations in Iran and more recently in Venezuela. Executives from major defense contractors such as BAE Systems, Boeing, Honeywell Aerospace, L3Harris Missile Solutions, Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, and Raytheon participated in the meeting.

Trump announced that another meeting with defense companies is planned for two months' time, as several US states compete to host new production plants linked to the expanded manufacturing effort. Lockheed Martin confirmed on US social media platform X that it has already begun efforts to "quadruple critical munitions production," in coordination with Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and Deputy Defense Secretary Stephen Feinberg.

Regional tensions have intensified since the US and Israel launched a major offensive against Iran on Saturday, resulting in over 1,000 fatalities, including Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, more than 150 schoolgirls, and senior military officials. In retaliation, Iran has launched extensive attacks targeting US bases, diplomatic facilities, and military personnel across the region, as well as multiple Israeli cities. The situation continues to escalate.
