Trump Reiterates Potential for Military Action Against Iran

Washington:US President Donald Trump has once again raised the possibility of military strikes against Iran, suggesting that the United States might need to "give them the hammer" despite ongoing diplomatic efforts to prevent further conflict escalation.

According to Anadolu Agency – English, Trump addressed his supporters at a rally in Iowa, explaining that his restraint thus far has been motivated by a desire to preserve lives. However, he indicated that military action might become necessary. He mentioned that the US still has specific targets in Iran, including Pickaxe Mountain, a suspected underground nuclear site in Isfahan province.

Trump's comments emerge amid uncertain negotiations aimed at averting renewed US and Israeli military actions against Iran following the conflict that began on February 28. Reports indicate that US media covered Trump's discussions with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Saturday regarding diplomatic talks with Tehran. Netanyahu reportedly advocated for immediate military action post the US midterm elections, while Trump preferred allowing diplomacy more time to succeed.
