Washington:US President Donald Trump has ruled out immediate military strikes against Iran, stating there are no current plans for such action. This announcement was made as he departed for a campaign rally in Michigan, in response to questions about potential military action against Iran.
According to Anadolu Agency – English, Trump revealed that there are two different sets of intelligence reports, which he described as "very advanced." Despite the tensions, Trump asserted that the US is handling the situation with Iran effectively. However, an unnamed US official indicated that Trump is prepared to change strategies on Iran, suggesting that military strikes might be a matter of when, not if.
Earlier statements from Trump presented an ultimatum regarding Iran, contemplating whether to pursue a diplomatic agreement or resort to military action. He emphasized US control over the Strait of Hormuz and the robust enforcement of a blockade on Iranian ports, highlighting the strategic dominance the US holds in the region.
In addition to the situation with Iran, Trump mentioned upcoming diplomatic talks involving Russia, Ukraine, and the US, expressing optimism about potential agreements. Regarding the presidential election in Brazil, Trump stated that the US administration is closely monitoring the developments without endorsing any candidates.
Trump also addressed domestic and international border enforcement issues, contrasting US border policies with those in Europe, which he criticized for leading to unrest. He further accused Taiwan of undermining the US semiconductor industry through aggressive pricing strategies, attributing regional tensions with China to this economic maneuver.
