France: US President Donald Trump stated on Tuesday that he 'never cared about regime change' in Iran, emphasizing that the United States is engaging with 'very rational people' in the region.

According to Anadolu Agency, Trump, while addressing reporters in France, clarified his stance on regime change, saying, 'I never cared about regime change. It's never a part, but I guess you have regime change because you know better than anybody.' He expressed skepticism about the effectiveness of regime changes, noting, 'I've watched regime changes for years, they never work.'

Trump further elaborated on the outcomes of past regime changes, remarking that previous groups involved are no longer influential or alive. He stated, 'The first group, they're all dead. The second group, they're dead. A part of the third group is gone, and we're dealing with people that I think are very rational people.'

The President conveyed confidence in the current Iranian leadership, saying, 'I think actually they're smarter than the first and second group, but they're not radicalized, and they're looking to help their country.' He also addressed financial dealings with Iran, asserting, 'We have no obligation to invest any money in Iran. We're not investing any money. We have the right to, if we want, but we're not investing any money.'

Trump concluded by mentioning the existing deal between the US and Iran, stating, 'We have our deal done with Iran, and to be successful, it goes to a second stage, which I think will be actually easier,' and described the agreement as 'a fair deal, that's a good deal.'
