Doha: The US has secured investments worth $10 trillion as a result of President Donald Trump's Middle East tour this week, Trump said in a speech at Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar on Thursday. Trump announced that Qatar will make $42 billion in military purchases and invest $10 billion to improve the Al Udeid Air Base, which houses members of the US, UK, and Qatari air forces.

According to Anadolu Agency, Trump emphasized that the US military will soon become 'bigger, better, stronger and more powerful than ever before,' with the US Air Force set to acquire the world's first and only sixth-generation fighter jet, the F-47. "As part of that effort, I signed an order to build the Golden Dome missile defense shield to protect our country from missile attack," he stated.

During his speech, Trump reflected on the recent celebrations for the anniversary of the WWII victory in France, highlighting the US role in winning the war. He announced plans for 'a working holiday' to commemorate the WWII victory in the upcoming years in the US.

Addressing global conflicts, Trump asserted that while the US prioritizes itself, it will 'take care' of other nations. He claimed that under his leadership, Russia would have never invaded Ukraine, and conflicts involving Russia, Ukraine, and Israel would have been avoided.

Trump criticized the previous administration's decision to withdraw from Afghanistan, calling it 'horrible and so embarrassing' and expressed regret over relinquishing the Bagram Air Base. He also praised his role in mediating peace between Pakistan and India, stating, "We talked to them about trade instead of the war," and noted that both countries were pleased with the resolution.

Trump's visit to Doha is part of a Gulf tour that began Tuesday in Saudi Arabia and is scheduled to conclude Friday in the United Arab Emirates. This visit marks the first by a US president to Qatar since George W. Bush in 2003.
