Washington:US President Donald Trump emphasized on Sunday the necessity for Libya to stop functioning as a passageway for illegal migration. In his statement, Trump reiterated Washington's dedication to enhancing bilateral relations, aiding the consolidation of Libyan institutions, and supporting the country's move towards national elections.

According to Anadolu Agency – English, Trump commended the Libyan people for their resilience and hospitality, underscoring the partnership between the US and Libya in fighting terrorism. He acknowledged the joint efforts in defeating ISIS (Daesh) in Libya and expressed respect for the sacrifices made by Libyans in this fight.

Trump further committed to supporting Libya's efforts towards unification and institutional consolidation. He expressed a desire for Libyans to reclaim their sovereignty and achieve the peaceful and prosperous future they deserve.
