Trump’s Truth Social Not Blocked in Ukraine, Confirms Kyiv

Kyiv: Reports that US President Donald Trump's social media platform, Truth Social, is blocked across Ukraine are 'false,' a Ukrainian Foreign Ministry spokesman said Thursday. Social media users earlier claimed they were unable to access Truth Social, encountering a message that read, 'Truth Social is currently unavailable in your region.'

According to Anadolu Agency, Foreign Ministry spokesman Heorhii Tykhyi dismissed the claims on X. 'We have seen reports suggesting that access to the Truth Social network has been blocked in Ukraine. These reports are false,' he wrote. 'Ukraine did not and could not block access because, unfortunately, the social network Truth Social has never made itself available to users in Ukraine.'

Tykhyi explained that Truth Social's operations are currently limited to select countries, including the US, Canada, Brazil, Australia, and a few others-with Ukraine not being on that list. 'We would appreciate it if Truth Social would add Ukraine to their authorized region of operations,' he added.

Truth Social has yet to comment or address its limited regional availability. This comes amidst heightened tensions following Trump's recent remarks on the platform, where he labeled Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy a 'modestly successful comedian' and a 'Dictator.' Trump's comments have sparked backlash from Ukrainian officials, adding to the ongoing diplomatic tensions between Washington and Kyiv.
