Kuwait city: Four agreements were signed between Turkey and Kuwait on Tuesday in the presence of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, the Kuwaiti emir. These agreements mark a significant step in strengthening bilateral relations between the two nations.

According to Anadolu Agency, the agreements were finalized following bilateral and inter-delegation meetings at Kuwait's Bayan Palace. A ceremony was held to formalize the deals, attended by high-ranking officials from both countries.

The agreements include a maritime transport agreement and a memorandum of understanding on the mutual recognition of seafarers' certificates. These were signed by Turkey's Transport and Infrastructure Minister, Hakan Fidan, and Kuwaiti Interior Minister, Sheikh Fahad Youssef Saud Al-Sabah.

Another significant memorandum focused on cooperation in the energy sector. This was signed by Turkey's Energy and Natural Resources Minister, Alparslan Bayraktar, alongside Kuwait's Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy Minister, Subaih Abdulaziz Abdulmohsen Al-Muhaizem.

Additionally, the two countries agreed on a memorandum concerning direct investment incentives. This was signed by Ahmet Burak Daglioglu, head of the Turkish investment office, and Sheikh Meshal Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, the KDIPA director general.

Earlier in the day, Erdogan was welcomed to Kuwait with an official ceremony. The Turkish President also presented Sheikh Mishal with a model of Turkey's homegrown electric car, Togg, as a gesture of goodwill.

Kuwait marks the first stop of Erdogan's three-day Gulf tour, which will also include visits to Oman and Qatar.
