Istanbul: Turkish Airlines, Trkiye's national flag carrier, reported a significant milestone, carrying 51.2 million passengers from January to July this year, achieving an 82.1% load factor.

According to Anadolu Agency, the airline experienced a 4.7% year-on-year increase in total passengers during this period, as disclosed in a statement on Trkiye's Public Disclosure Platform (KAP). The international-to-international passenger count surged by 9%, reaching 19.6 million. The overall load factor increased by 0.6% compared to the previous year.

The data showed that the international passenger load factor stood at 81.7%, while the domestic passenger load factor was 85.6%. Turkish Airlines' available seat kilometers rose by 6.1%, totaling 153.9 billion in the first seven months of the year. In terms of cargo and mail, the airline transported 1.21 million tons, marking a 4.4% increase from the previous year. The fleet expanded to 491 aircraft by the end of July.

In July alone, the airline transported 9 million passengers, marking an 8.4% increase from the previous year. International-to-international transfer passengers saw a 12.8% increase, reaching 3.3 million, with the passenger load factor increasing by 0.2 percentage points to 85.4%. The international and domestic load factors for July were 84.8% and 90.6%, respectively. The available seat kilometers in July jumped 8.7% to 25 billion, and the cargo and mail volume grew by 11.2%, reaching 191,100 tons.
