Algiers: Trkiye's flag carrier Turkish Airlines and Algerian Airlines (Air Algerie) have signed a memorandum of understanding to develop strategic cooperation. The deal aims to expand their existing codeshare agreement and enhance connectivity, as stated by Turkish Airlines.

According to Anadolu Agency, the agreement lays the groundwork for both airlines to explore joint ventures in cargo interline services, aircraft charters, catering, lounge access, maintenance, and ground handling operations. Additionally, the collaboration extends to environmental projects, sustainability initiatives, and educational programs.

The agreement was formalized during a ceremony at Air Algerie's headquarters in Algiers, attended by Turkish Airlines CEO Bilal Eksi and Air Algerie's CEO Hamza Benhamouda, along with senior executives from both companies. Eksi emphasized that the ongoing partnership signifies a commitment to long-term cooperation and represents a crucial step toward strengthening relations between Turkish Airlines and Air Algerie.

Eksi remarked, "We have full confidence that this partnership will strengthen the cultural and economic ties between Trkiye and Algeria while also supporting mutual growth." Benhamouda echoed these sentiments, noting that the comprehensive memorandum will allow both flag carriers to expand collaboration opportunities and benefit their passengers.

Benhamouda expressed his honor in hosting the Turkish Airlines delegation in Algiers, underscoring the significance of the agreement in reinforcing the ties between the two airlines.
