Istanbul: Trkiye's flag carrier Turkish Airlines announced that its fleet has expanded to 531 aircraft, highlighting the airline's significant growth over the past two decades.

According to Anadolu Agency, Turkish Airlines CEO Bilal Eksi shared the news on US social media platform X, stating, "We're not stopping, we're growing! Today, the number of aircraft in our fleet has reached 531." Eksi further emphasized the growth by comparing the current fleet size to that of 2003, when the airline operated with just 65 aircraft. He proudly declared, "Trkiye is growing, Turkish Airlines is flying high!"

Turkish Airlines, based in Istanbul, achieved a milestone by earning a Guinness World Record in December 2024 for connecting the highest number of countries, reaching 131 nations. The airline ranks among the largest globally, transporting over 85 million passengers and 2 million tons of cargo annually.

Earlier this year, Eksi expressed the company's ambition to be among the world's top five airlines by 2033, targeting an aircraft fleet expansion to 813 units. The airline welcomed its 500th aircraft last month, marking another significant milestone as it joined the fleet by the end of 2025.
