Turkish and Iranian Foreign Ministers Engage in Phone Call

Ankara: Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan on Friday had a phone call with his Iranian counterpart Abbas Araghchi, according to diplomatic sources. The discussion focused on recent developments in the ongoing negotiation process between Iran and the United States.

According to Anadolu Agency, Turkish Foreign Ministry sources indicated that the conversation between Fidan and Araghchi was centered on the diplomatic efforts aimed at resolving tensions between Iran and the US. This dialogue comes in the wake of a ceasefire mediated by Pakistan in the US-Israeli war on Iran on April 8. Since then, Pakistan has also facilitated peace talks in Islamabad.

The truce between the conflicting parties, established through Pakistan's mediation, remains in place. However, both Turkey and Iran are actively engaged in pursuing a more permanent resolution to the hostilities. The phone call reflects the ongoing regional diplomatic initiatives aimed at sustaining peace and stability.
