Ankara: The Turkish and Syrian armies have successfully completed the construction of a floating bridge connecting the two banks of the Euphrates River in Syria, announced Trkiye's ambassador to Damascus. The project, which benefits residents of the Deir ez-Zor region, marks a significant step in the cooperative efforts between the neighboring countries.

According to Anadolu Agency, Ambassador Nuh Yilmaz shared on US social media platform X that the bridge was finalized on August 30, coinciding with Trkiye's Victory Day. This endeavor highlights the collaboration between the Turkish Armed Forces and the Syrian army, aiming to replace a previous crossing that was destroyed by flooding.

Ambassador Yilmaz noted that this is the second bridge project the two armies have undertaken together. He emphasized the positive implications of this partnership, stating, "The Turkish and Syrian armed forces are building the future together in peace as well."

Syrian Defense Minister Murhaf Abu Qasra also took to X to express the significance of the newly constructed bridge. He highlighted its role in alleviating the transportation challenges faced by the residents of Deir ez-Zor. Minister Abu Qasra extended his gratitude to Turkish Defense Minister Gen. Yasar Guler for his dedication to enhancing trust and collaboration between the two nations.
