Istanbul: The Turkish benchmark stock index closed Tuesday at 9,224.84 points, registering a decline of 0.88% from the previous close. After beginning the day at 9,272.47, the BIST 100 index dropped 82.12 points from Monday's close.
According to Anadolu Agency, the index's lowest point during the day was 9,216.78, while it reached a daily high of 9,312.18. A total of 61 indexes saw a reduction in value, whereas 38 managed to close the day with gains. The transaction volume for the day amounted to 82.6 billion Turkish liras, equivalent to approximately $2.15 billion, while the overall value of the index stood at 8.42 trillion liras, or $219.5 billion.
The currency exchange rates were reported with the USD/TRY at 38.4540 as of 6.20 p.m. local time (1520GMT). The EUR/TRY exchange rate was 43.9125, and the GBP/TRY rate stood at 51.6000. Additionally, the price of gold was $3,309.20 per ounce, and the barrel price of Brent oil was $63.65.
