Turkish Benchmark Stock Index Closes Lower on Tuesday

Beirut: The Turkish benchmark stock index concluded Tuesday in negative territory, closing with 13,687.86 points, marking a 0.63% decline compared to the previous day's close.

According to Anadolu Agency, the BIST 100 index began the day at 13,786.47 but eventually fell by 86.91 points from Monday's closing value. Throughout the trading session, the index experienced a low of 13,635.39 and reached a high of 13,872.92.

Out of the total indexes, 60 saw a decrease in value, whereas 38 ended the day on a positive note. The transaction volume reached 165 billion Turkish liras, equivalent to $3.48 billion, and the overall value of the index stood at 13.24 trillion liras, approximately $280.18 billion.

In currency exchange rates, the USD/TRY was at 47.3800 as of 6.30 pm local time (1530GMT), with the EUR/TRY at 54.0330 and the GBP/TRY at 63.0725. Meanwhile, the price of gold stood at $4,035.10 per ounce, and Brent crude futures were priced at $84.60.
