Ankara: Trkiye's Communications Director Fahrettin Altun criticized The Economist magazine Sunday for distorting facts about ongoing legal cases in the country.
According to Anadolu Agency, Altun expressed his disapproval on X, highlighting that The Economist remained silent on issues such as the "brutal massacres and genocidal terrorism" by Israel, while it audaciously targeted President Recep Tayyip Erdogan by distorting ongoing cases and investigations led by Trkiye's independent judiciary.
Altun emphasized that the publication disregards universal legal principles and unconditionally supports Israel, failing to criticize Western states that attempt to silence defenders of Palestinian rights. He stated that there is no lesson to be learned from such a publication, but rather warnings to be heeded.
He further alleged that the magazine's initiative is a targeted effort against Trkiye's successful TV series industry and is part of a broader political operation. Despite these challenges, Altun asserted that under President Erdogan's leadership, Trkiye is determined to achieve its goal of becoming a great and powerful nation.
