Turkish Defense Firm to Establish Ammunition Factory in Estonia

Istanbul: Turkish defense company ARCA Defense and Estonia's Defense Ministry signed an agreement Wednesday to establish an ammunition production facility in Estonia during the SAHA 2026 International Defense and Aerospace Exhibition in Istanbul. The exhibition, organized by SAHA Istanbul, is being held at the Istanbul Expo Center. Anadolu is serving as the event's global communications partner.

According to Anadolu Agency, the signing ceremony was attended by Turkish Defense Minister Yasar Guler, Estonian Defense Minister Hanno Pevkur, ARCA Defense Chairman Ismail Terlemez, ARCA Defense board member Ozgur Rodoplu, and SAHA Istanbul Chairman Haluk Bayraktar. Guler, speaking at the ceremony, recalled attending another signing event in Estonia five years ago with Pevkur involving vehicles purchased from Turkish armored vehicle manufacturer Otokar.

Guler expressed his pleasure at being present for the signing ceremony of the agreement between Estonia and ARCA, describing it as a significant development. Estonian Defense Minister Hanno Pevkur emphasized the deepening defense cooperation between Trkiye and Estonia, acknowledging the significance of the moment and the historical nature of the agreement.

Pevkur highlighted the strong defense ties Estonia already maintains with several Turkish companies. He described the establishment of the ammunition factory as a large investment for Estonia, which will create approximately 1,000 jobs and start the production of long-range artillery ammunition for Estonia, Europe, and NATO countries. Pevkur expressed gratitude to ARCA Defense for their investment, noting the importance of the day for all parties involved.
