Ankara: Trkiye's first lady Emine Erdogan on Tuesday met with a delegation of the World Health Organization (WHO), including the WHO's Europe Director Hans Kluge and the organization's Trkiye representative Tasnim Atatrah. Turkish Health Minister Kemal Memisoglu was also present at the meeting, which took place at the Presidential Complex in the capital Ankara.

According to Anadolu Agency, the meeting highlighted Trkiye's leading position in Europe concerning knowledge and experience in alternative medicine. Kluge expressed his gratitude to Trkiye for its pioneering role on Gaza and praised Ankara's leadership in promoting traditional, complementary, and integrative medicine as part of its health innovation. He called for joint efforts to improve child and adolescent health.

Kluge also congratulated Trkiye as the country is set to host COP31 and proposed integrating health and sustainability into global climate discussions. Emine Erdogan shared on the Turkish social media platform NSosyal that they had a "productive" meeting addressing issues on the global health agenda.
