Ankara: Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and his Iraqi counterpart Fuad Hussein engaged in a phone conversation to address the ongoing conflict between Israel and Iran, as reported by Turkish Foreign Ministry sources. The dialogue between the two officials also touched upon the regional implications of the conflict, given that both Turkey and Iraq share borders with Iran.

According to Anadolu Agency, the conflict escalated significantly on June 13 when Israel initiated large-scale attacks targeting Iran's nuclear facilities and military command centers across various cities. Iranian media reported a steep increase in casualties, with the death toll from Israeli airstrikes in Tehran and other populated areas climbing to 585. Additionally, at least 1,326 individuals have been reported injured since the onset of the attacks last week.

In a retaliatory move, Iran's military launched ballistic missiles towards Israel, resulting in the deaths of 24 people and injuring over 500 others. The escalating violence has drawn condemnation from several countries, including Turkey, which has openly criticized Israel's actions in the region.
