Turkish Foreign Minister and Jordanian Counterpart Discuss Developments in Syria.

Ankara: Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and his Jordanian counterpart Ayman Safadi on Tuesday engaged in a phone conversation to deliberate on the latest developments in Syria, as reported by diplomatic sources. The sources, who requested anonymity due to lack of authorization to address the media, confirmed the occurrence of the discussion. According to Anadolu Agency, the conversation between the two foreign ministers comes amid escalating tensions in Syria. Clashes erupted last Wednesday between forces loyal to the Assad regime and armed opposition groups on the outskirts of Aleppo, a significant city in northern Syria. This marks a renewed surge in hostilities after a period of relative calm in the ongoing Syrian civil war that began in 2011. The opposition groups have since gained control over most of Aleppo's city center and the entire Idlib province from regime forces. Additionally, they have seized 16 more settlements, including Al-Jalamah, Al-Zakah, Jubbayn, Tal Meleh, Kirkat, Al-Mughayr, Al-M abatan, Al-Huwayz, and Shari'a.
