Antalya: Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan on Thursday met with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio on the sidelines of the informal NATO foreign ministers meeting in the Turkish resort city of Antalya. The meeting took place at the NEST Congress Center in Belek.

According to Anadolu Agency, preparations for upcoming visits at the heads of state level were a key topic of discussion between the two officials. Both emphasized the importance of prioritizing dialogue and negotiations to bring an end to the ongoing war in Ukraine, highlighting recent diplomatic efforts by Trkiye and the US in this regard. They agreed to continue efforts to facilitate direct talks between the involved parties.

On the subject of Gaza, Fidan stressed the urgent need to improve humanitarian conditions and called for collaborative efforts to address the ongoing crisis. The ministers also discussed the ongoing negotiation process between Washington and Tehran concerning Iran's nuclear program, as well as the situation in Syria.

Additionally, the conversation touched on the significance of reducing tensions and promoting stability in South Asia. The ministers exchanged views on US President Donald Trump's recent visits to Gulf countries, underscoring the broader geopolitical implications of these visits.
