Turkish Foreign Minister Declares Successful Conclusion of NATO Ankara Summit

Ankara: Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan announced that the NATO summit hosted by Trkiye in Ankara on July 7-8 concluded successfully. The summit witnessed participation from all allies at the leaders' level, which Fidan described as a testament to the confidence in Trkiye and President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

According to Anadolu Agency, the summit took place at a pivotal moment amid ongoing discussions regarding NATO's transformation, focusing on crucial issues on the Euro-Atlantic security agenda. Fidan emphasized that the summit laid the groundwork for 'a stronger Europe within a stronger NATO,' aligning with the NATO 3.0 vision.

Fidan expressed his gratitude to President Erdogan for his 'strategic vision and strong leadership,' which facilitated Trkiye in hosting a NATO summit after a 22-year gap. He extended his thanks to NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte and the foreign ministers of allied countries for their close cooperation during the summit preparations.

In his statement, Fidan expressed hope that the NATO Ankara summit would usher in peace and security for Trkiye and all its allies.
