Turkish Foreign Minister Engages in Talks with Italian Counterpart on Middle East Conflict

Ankara: Trkiye's Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan on Tuesday engaged in a phone conversation with his Italian counterpart Antonio Tajani, Turkish diplomatic sources said. The discussion focused on efforts to bring an end to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.

According to Anadolu Agency, the escalation in the region intensified following a joint attack by Israel and the US against Iran on February 28. The conflict has resulted in the deaths of over 1,200 people and left thousands injured. Tehran has responded by launching drone and missile strikes against Israel, Jordan, Iraq, and Gulf countries hosting US military assets.

The dialogue between Fidan and Tajani comes amid rising tensions and the urgent need for diplomatic efforts to prevent further escalation. Both nations have expressed a commitment to seeking a peaceful resolution to the crisis, emphasizing the importance of international cooperation.
