Turkish Foreign Minister Engages with Ukrainian Officials at Munich Security Conference

Munich: Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan met with top Ukrainian officials in Germany during this weekend's Munich Security Conference, the Turkish Foreign Ministry said Sunday. Fidan held talks with Andriy Yermak, the head of Ukraine's Presidential Office, and Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov. According to Anadolu Agency, details of the discussions were not immediately disclosed. The meetings come in the context of heightened speculation over a potential peace deal, following recent phone calls between US President Donald Trump and his Russian and Ukrainian counterparts. These developments have stirred discussions about possible resolutions to the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine, which began when Russia launched its war on Ukraine on February 24, 2022. The Munich Security Conference, an annual event, concludes today. It has served as a significant platform for diplomatic engagements and discussions on global security issues, including the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.
