Ankara: Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan on Monday evening had a phone call with his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov. Fidan and Lavrov discussed the latest efforts to establish peace between Russia and Ukraine.

According to Anadolu Agency, the call comes on the eve of a meeting of the Russian and Ukrainian sides in Istanbul this Thursday for the first peace talks between the two countries in over three years. The discussions between Fidan and Lavrov are part of ongoing diplomatic efforts to facilitate dialogue and find a resolution to the conflict.
