New York:Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan chaired the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Foreign Ministers' Annual Coordination Meeting in New York. This meeting was held in conjunction with the 81st session of the UN General Assembly.

According to Anadolu Agency, Fidan addressed the ongoing situation in Gaza, criticizing Israel for what he described as genocide, along with its occupation and annexation activities in Palestine, and its attacks on Syria and Lebanon.

He also discussed various issues affecting the Islamic world, emphasizing developments in Iran, Yemen, Libya, Sudan, and Somalia. Fidan underscored the importance of the OIC's role in safeguarding the rights of Muslim minorities and communities.

The OIC Foreign Ministers' Annual Coordination Meeting occurs every year during the UN General Assembly week, serving as an additional platform for member state foreign ministers to share perspectives alongside the organization's annual Council of Foreign Ministers meeting.

T¼rkiye currently holds the rotating chairmanship of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers, having taken the position after the 51st session held in Istanbul in June 2025. Previously, T¼rkiye hosted the Council of Foreign Ministers meetings in 1976, 1991, and 2004.
