Turkish, Italian Airspace Firms ASFAT and Magnaghi Sign Joint Venture Agreement

Istanbul: Turkish aerospace firm ASFAT and Italian company Magnaghi Aerospace signed a joint venture agreement on Friday during TEKNOFEST, Trkiye's premier technology and aviation event.

According to Anadolu Agency, Magnaghi Aerospace is recognized in the design, production, and maintenance of aircraft landing gear systems. The company also focuses on related subsystems such as hydraulic and electromechanical devices for aerial platforms.

Under the agreement, a Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) Center will be established in Trkiye. The facility will concentrate on servicing landing gear used by aircraft in the Turkish Armed Forces' inventory, with Trkiye's ATAK helicopters being the first to be serviced.

Led by ASFAT, the project is designed to support both military and civilian air platforms and aims to become a pivotal center for Trkiye's aviation maintenance sector.

The joint venture deal was formalized between ASFAT CEO Mustafa Ilbas and Magnaghi Aerospace founder and CEO Paolo Graziano.

TEKNOFEST, a five-day event, commenced in Istanbul on Wednesday. Organized by the Turkish Technology Team (T3) Foundation and the Ministry of Industry and Technology, Anadolu Agency serves as the global communications partner.
