Istanbul: The first Turkish large language model, T3AI, made its debut with the launch of its beta version on the TEKNOFEST social platform. Developed through a collaboration between the Turkish Technology Team (T3) Foundation and defense firm Baykar, T3AI is poised to enhance digital interactions with its open-source "ethical AI."

According to Anadolu Agency, users can engage with the T3AI model by tagging it in posts on the TEKNOFEST platform. Although the model is primarily designed for Turkish, it is capable of responding in various languages, broadening its accessibility and utility. The project is supported by a host of partners including the Turkish Ministry of National Education, the Foundation for Political, Economic, and Social Research (SETA), Turkish state network TRT, the Turkish Academy of Sciences, and Microsoft.

The development of T3AI was a nationwide effort, with contributions from 1,792 volunteers across 67 different provinces in Trkiye. The initiative aimed to raise AI awareness, integrate AI into digital services, and foster a skilled workforce in AI development. The beta phase concluded with the model's final post, promising improvements and a stronger return. Selcuk Bayraktar, chair of the board of trustees at the T3 Foundation, highlighted that the model was designed with a focus on understanding texts from Turkic countries.
