Mogadishu: The Turkish Maarif Foundation, which operates schools across 55 countries, is providing Somali students with opportunities to achieve their dreams and contribute to their nation's future. The foundation has established two campuses in Mogadishu and one in the Hargeisa region, where many students express gratitude for the educational opportunities that were once beyond their reach.

According to Anadolu Agency, Abshir, a student who previously lived in refugee camps, has been attending a Maarif school for six years. He expressed that in the camps, access to proper education was limited. "I'll help the children in refugee camps when I become a businessperson and make lots of money. I'll meet the expenses of my parents' pilgrimage. Thank you, Maarif Foundation's Schools, for changing my life," he said.

Mohamud Ali Suri, who was born in Saudi Arabia and relocated to Somalia seven years ago, shared that his family faced financial challenges and he received a limited education abroad. He has been studying at a Maarif school for two years. "The tuition is expensive there (Saudi Arabia), and we couldn't meet it," he explained, noting that the education in Somalia has been more robust. Suri, who earned a scholarship following a strong performance in national exams, described the experience as transformative. "This has been the best thing that has ever happened to me," he said. "My life changed after starting at the school, thanks to its benefits given to the students, including scholarships." He also expressed a desire to visit Trkiye, admiring the Turkish people for their kindness and honesty.

Another student, who has been at the school for two years, praised it as the "best school in Mogadishu." Abdihakim Dahir Mohamed, the son of a teacher and a housewife, aspires to become an engineer. He believes the education he is receiving is advantageous, with supportive teachers who help him towards his goal. "I am receiving a more advantageous education. I have very good teachers who support me so that I can become a good engineer. I am taking better classes," he said.

The Turkish Maarif Foundation currently provides education to more than 68,000 students through 517 institutions around the world.
