Ashgabat: Trkiye's President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif engaged in discussions on bilateral relations and regional and global issues during the International Peace and Trust Forum in Turkmenistan's capital.

According to Anadolu Agency, the Turkish Communications Directorate reported that President Erdogan emphasized the importance of enhancing relations with Islamabad. He outlined plans to expand cooperation between Trkiye and Pakistan in fields such as energy, trade, and investment. Erdogan also expressed appreciation for the recent extension of the ceasefire between Pakistan and Afghanistan and highlighted Ankara's readiness to support the stability mechanism.

In addition to his meeting with Prime Minister Sharif, President Erdogan held discussions with Turkmenistan's President Serdar Berdimuhamedov. The focus of their meeting was on strengthening bilateral relations and addressing global and regional challenges. Erdogan noted Trkiye's ambition to enhance cooperation in areas like trade, energy, defense, and culture. He further congratulated Berdimuhamedov on the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's permanent neutrality.

President Erdogan concluded his visit to Turkmenistan and returned to Trkiye on Friday. The International Peace and Trust Forum was organized to commemorate Turkmenistan's 30 years of permanent neutrality and the UN General Assembly's recognition of 2025 as the International Year of Peace and Trust.
