Ankara: Trkiye's President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al Thani engaged in a phone conversation discussing the ongoing conflict between Israel and Iran, bilateral relations, and regional issues, as reported by Trkiye's Communications Directorate.

According to Anadolu Agency, Erdogan highlighted Trkiye's active diplomatic efforts concerning the conflict that erupted following Israel's attack on Iran. He emphasized Ankara's commitment to ending the "cycle of violence" in the region.

Erdogan further criticized Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, describing him as a significant threat to regional security. He stressed the importance of not allowing the Israeli attacks to detract from the humanitarian crisis and alleged genocide in Gaza, and expressed concern about the conflict potentially extending into Syria.
