Ankara: Trkiye's President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Thursday lauded Turkish media outlets for their courage in covering the truth in the Gaza Strip, as he honored Anadolu photojournalist Ali Jadallah for his work that exposed to the world the magnitude of Israeli destruction.

According to Anadolu Agency, Erdogan recognized the bravery of Turkish media outlets, particularly TRT and Anadolu, for their stance on the situation in Gaza. During the 2025 Presidential Culture and Arts Grand Awards ceremony in Ankara, Erdogan praised Jadallah for his poignant photography, which not only highlighted the extensive devastation in Gaza but also underscored the Palestinian people's resistance.

Erdogan remarked that Jadallah's work confronted the so-called civilized world with the harsh realities of the Gaza genocide. The president noted that Jadallah's photographs gained significant international attention and were even submitted as evidence in a case filed by the Republic of South Africa against Israel at the International Court of Justice.

Expressing his admiration, Erdogan congratulated Jadallah for risking his life to capture and document the oppression in Gaza. He emphasized that the images taken by Jadallah have resonated across the globe, serving as a testament to the situation in the region.

Jadallah's award in the photography category was accepted by his wife, Dua al-Eisawi, who expressed regret that her husband could not attend the ceremony due to the difficulties of leaving Gaza. She thanked the Turkish government, Anadolu, and the people of Trkiye for their support, and also commended President Erdogan for his efforts to end the conflict in Gaza and support the Palestinian cause.
