Muscat: Trkiye's President Recep Tayyip Erdogan met Sultan Haitham bin Tarik in Muscat, the capital of Oman, marking the final leg of his Gulf tour. The meeting commenced with an official welcoming ceremony at the Al Alam Palace, where Erdogan and Sultan Haitham engaged in discussions.
According to Anadolu Agency, the welcoming ceremony included notable figures such as Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, Energy and Natural Resources Minister Alparslan Bayraktar, Treasury and Finance Minister Mehmet Simsek, National Defense Minister Yasar Guler, Industry and Technology Minister Mehmet Fatih Kacir, Trade Minister Omer Bolat, National Intelligence Organization head Ibrahim Kalin, and Communications Director Burhanettin Duran, among other top officials.
Following the closed-door meeting, President Erdogan presented Trkiye's homegrown electric car, TOGG, to Sultan Haitham. The two leaders then inspected the vehicle in the palace courtyard, where Turkish Industry and Technology Minister Mehmet Fatih Kacir provided the Omani ruler with a briefing on the electric vehicle's features.
Sultan Haitham later hosted a dinner in honor of President Erdogan. Oman served as the third and final destination on Erdogan's three-day tour of Gulf states, which also included visits to Kuwait and Qatar.
