Turkish President Erdogan and Italy’s Meloni Discuss Bilateral and Global Developments

Ankara: In a recent phone conversation, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni engaged in discussions focusing on the bilateral relations between their nations as well as broader regional and global developments.

According to Anadolu Agency, President Erdogan expressed Turkey's willingness to facilitate peace talks to help bring an end to the ongoing war between Ukraine and Russia. He emphasized Turkey's readiness to contribute "in every possible way" to ensure that the conflict concludes "with a just and lasting peace," as stated by the country's Communications Directorate on X.

Highlighting the "window of opportunity" for achieving peace in the four-year-long war, Erdogan urged that this opportunity should not be overlooked and stressed the necessity of intensifying diplomatic efforts to reach a peaceful resolution.
