Kuwait city: Preserving the hard-won ceasefire recently achieved in Gaza between Israel and the Palestinian group Hamas is critically important, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said Tuesday. On an official visit to Kuwait, Erdogan met with Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, the nation's emir, and they discussed bilateral relations and regional and global issues.

According to Anadolu Agency, Erdogan emphasized the critical importance of maintaining the strenuously achieved ceasefire in Gaza. He stated that a two-state solution is imperative for lasting peace and highlighted the significance of the Islamic world's common stance on this matter. The statement from the Turkish Communications Directorate also noted Erdogan's commitment to upholding Syria's political unity and territorial integrity, expressing a desire to collaborate with Arab states to build a promising future for the Syrian people.

On the topic of bilateral ties, Erdogan highlighted the strategic importance of the existing cooperation between Trkiye and Kuwait in investment, energy, trade, and the defense industry. He stressed the potential to further enhance these deep-rooted bilateral ties. Additionally, Erdogan expressed appreciation for Kuwait's efforts to promote regional stability as the current Chair of the Gulf Cooperation Council. He remarked that the ongoing negotiations for a Free Trade Agreement between Trkiye and the GCC would further strengthen Trkiye's commercial relations with Gulf countries.
