Ankara: In a recent phone call, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan emphasized to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy that ongoing conflict in Iran should not impede negotiations aimed at ending the war in Ukraine, as reported by Trkiye's Communications Directorate.

According to Anadolu Agency, the two leaders discussed Trkiye-Ukraine relations and broader regional issues during their conversation. Erdogan highlighted the importance of continuing peace negotiations without delay to bolster efforts towards ending the war in Ukraine. He underscored the necessity of addressing Ukraine's reconstruction and post-conflict needs, emphasizing the crucial role of healing, rebuilding, and establishing lasting security.

Erdogan reiterated the significance of maintaining maritime safety in the Black Sea for Trkiye. He suggested that a ceasefire, ensuring the protection of energy infrastructure and ports, could foster trust between the conflicting parties. These measures, according to Erdogan, could promote stability and facilitate confidence-building in the region.

Furthermore, Erdogan expressed Ankara's readiness to offer all necessary support to achieve these objectives, emphasizing Trkiye's commitment to facilitating peace and stability in Ukraine.
