Turkish Stock Exchange Begins Thursday on High Note

Istanbul: Trkiye's benchmark stock index opened Thursday at 10,907.44 points, marking an increase of 0.33%, or 36.37 points, from the previous close on Tuesday.

According to Anadolu Agency, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index was closed on Wednesday due to the Republic Day holiday. The index had slightly gained 0.16% on Tuesday, closing at 10,871.08 points with a daily transaction volume of 49.2 billion Turkish liras, equivalent to $1.17 billion.

As of 09.50 am local time (0650GMT) on Thursday, exchange rates showed the Turkish lira trading at 41.9650 to the US dollar, 48.8790 to the euro, and 55.5360 to the British pound. Meanwhile, the price of an ounce of gold was recorded at $3,967.90, and Brent crude oil was trading at $63.95 per barrel.
