Turkish Stock Exchange Climbs 1.3% at Tuesday’s Close

Istanbul: The Turkish benchmark stock index closed Tuesday at 12,790.98 points, marking a 1.3% increase from the previous session's close.

According to Anadolu Agency, the BIST 100 index began the day at 12,650.59 and gained 164.63 points compared to Monday's close. Throughout the trading day, the index fluctuated between a low of 12,634.88 and a high of 12,848.67.

A total of 72 indexes experienced gains, while 26 ended the day with losses. The total transaction volume reached 148.8 billion Turkish liras, equivalent to approximately $3.34 billion. The aggregate value of the index stood at 12.43 trillion liras, or $280.2 billion.

As of 6.20 pm local time (1520GMT), the USD/TRY exchange rate was recorded at 44.4795, with the EUR/TRY rate at 51.3190 and GBP/TRY trading at 58.8025. In commodity markets, the price of gold was $4,616.30 per ounce, and Brent crude futures were priced at $107.25 per barrel.
