Istanbul: The Turkish benchmark stock index concluded Tuesday's trading session at 12,933.40 points, registering a decline of 3.09% from the previous closing figure. The day commenced with the BIST 100 index at 13,296.03 points and witnessed a drop of 413.03 points from its previous closing on Monday, influenced by the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.
According to Anadolu Agency, the index experienced fluctuations throughout the day, with its lowest point hitting 12,905.50 and reaching a daily high of 13,380.04. Out of the total indexes, 79 lost value, while 20 managed to close in positive territory. The transaction volume for the day was recorded at 162.6 billion Turkish liras, equivalent to approximately $3.7 billion. The total market value of the index stood at 12.73 trillion liras, or around $290.2 billion.
Exchange rates also marked significant figures, with the USD/TRY rate at 43.9795, the EUR/TRY at 50.8260, and the GBP/TRY trading at 58.3805 by 6.20 pm local time (1520GMT). Additionally, the price of gold was reported at $5,040.45 per ounce, while Brent crude oil was priced at $83.15 per barrel.
