Ankara: The Turkish benchmark stock index ended the trading day at 8,863.88 points on Thursday, indicating a decline of 1.58% from its previous close. The BIST 100 index fell by 142.67 points compared to Wednesday's closing figures. According to Anadolu Agency, the index hit a daily low of 8,846.07, while reaching a high of 9,051.60 throughout the day. At the close of the market, 35 indexes saw an increase in value, whereas 62 experienced a decline. The day's total transaction volume amounted to 66 billion Turkish liras, which is approximately $1.94 billion. The overall market value of the index was recorded at 7.7 trillion liras, equivalent to $225.9 billion. Currency exchange rates were noted at 34.2570 for USD/TRY, 37.2830 for EUR/TRY, and 44.1035 for GBP/TRY as of 6.45 p.m. (1545GMT). Additionally, the price of gold was $2,747.20 per ounce, and the price of Brent oil per barrel was around $73.05.
