Istanbul: The Turkish benchmark stock index concluded Wednesday's trading session at 11,286.81 points, marking a 0.55% decline from the previous day's close. The BIST 100 index opened the day at 11,338.73, ultimately falling by 62.02 points compared to its Tuesday close.
According to Anadolu Agency, the index experienced fluctuations throughout the day, hitting a low of 11,250.46 and a high of 11,364.52. The trading day saw 54 indexes decrease in value, while 42 finished in positive territory. The daily transaction volume amounted to 113.7 billion Turkish liras, equivalent to $2.66 billion, with the total market value of the index reaching 10.58 trillion liras, or $248.1 billion.
The foreign exchange rates as of 6.20 pm local time (1520GMT) were recorded with the USD/TRY at 42.7235, the euro/lira at 50.2425, and the British pound trading at 57.1865. Gold was priced at $4,335.60 per ounce, and Brent crude oil stood at $59.70 per barrel.
